5 Levels of Working Mom Outfits: Level 2 weekend chic

This week’s outfit post is a demonstration of Level 2 of the 5 Levels of Working Mom Outfits–also known as Weekend Chic. (What’s Level 2, you may ask? Just check out yesterday’s post for details.)

As I mentioned yesterday, Level 2 is really just a variation on Level 1. A lot of your weekend casual basics can easily be dressed up to create a weekend chic look.

So this outfit shares a couple of pieces with my Level 1 outfit: the black V-neck T-shirt and the little Puma flats. You can’t really see it, but I have on the same small silver chain as well.

I traded the gray hooded sweatshirt for a gray embellished cardigan, and the bootcut Gap jeans for a darker washed pair of premium denim from Paige.

(This is the Hidden Hills cut and let me tell you, it’s a little bit magical. It’s not cut way down low and there’s enough stretch to hug your curves. It’s like jeans with built-in Spanx. So yes, these are expensive jeans but they are worth it!)

I added a belt on top of the cardigan for a little extra visual interest and waist definition and voila! Weekend chic.

Now, where did I put that mimosa?

T-shirt: Mossimo by Target. (Similar, $21, Bluefly)
Cardigan: LOFT. (Similar, $98, Banana Republic)
Denim: Paige Premium Denim Hidden Hills, $189, Zappos.
Shoes: Puma. (Similar, $70, Endless)
Outfit level: 2.
