With this ensemble, I’m wrapping up my mini-series of 3 working mom outfits created with 1 fun new top.
Although my first outfit for a date night could also be worn to the office (and I did), I wanted to create another look that was more specifically career wear.*
I liked the contrast of the vivid cobalt blue of the shirt against the bright white of the linen pants.
Then I thought about shoes. I could’ve gone with simple black flats (or even the Bettye Muller sandals from outfit #1) but I chose the black-and-white patterned booties as a way to take this outfit from summer into fall.
Those colors suggested the necklace: my black bead and faux pearl multi-strand choker.
*I recognize that a shirt with cutout sleeves might not fly in many workplaces; I have much more latitude in my creative agency office. To tone down a peekaboo piece like this for a more conservative dress code, I’d layer it over a black or white T-shirt with long or ¾-length sleeves or try it under a blazer.
